Profile of the Development Economics Study Program

The Development Economics Study Program is one of the study programs within the Faculty of Economics and Business at UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta, which plays a strategic role in the development of economic science and contributes to national and regional development.

The program was established based on a Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Wardiman Djojonegoro, and the Minister of Defense and Security of the Republic of Indonesia, Edi Sudrajat. The program first admitted students in 1993 and has consistently organized development economics education oriented toward strengthening analytical competencies, public policy, and sustainable development, based on the values of Bela Negara (state defense).

Based on the latest accreditation, the Development Economics Study Program has received a “Very Good” rating from LAMEMBA (Decree Number 020/DE/A.5/AR.10/X/2022), which serves as a strong foundation for continuous quality improvement toward achieving an “Excellent” accreditation status.
