Leadership Transition of the Development Economics Alumni Association Strengthens Alumni Network and Collaboration

Yogyakarta – On September 29, 2018, a leadership transition was held within the Alumni Association (IKA) of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. On this occasion, Eko Hartanto officially succeeded Joko Waluyo as the Chairperson of the Alumni Association for a five-year term.

The Development Economics Alumni Association of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta serves as an official platform that brings together all alumni of the Development Economics Study Program. The organization plays an important role as a forum for maintaining communication, strengthening solidarity, and enhancing networking among alumni working across various sectors, including government, private industry, academia, and entrepreneurship.

Through the Alumni Association, graduates are able to exchange information on job opportunities, career development, business collaboration, social initiatives, and meaningful contributions to their alma mater. In addition, the organization serves as a strategic bridge between alumni and the university in supporting the advancement of the Development Economics Study Program in academic development, research activities, and professional networking.

With the new leadership, the Alumni Association is expected to become more active in strengthening alumni contributions to the university and expanding collaborative networks that positively impact the development of economics in Indonesia.
